Default low toned exhaust other than MR?

So I've been running a Megan Racing Axle Back exhaust system with the invidia midpipe and I never realized that I couldn't pass smog with that setup. That being said, I only got Megan Racing because they've got one of the lowest, if not the lowest, sounding exhausts out there in the low RPM range but I want to be able to pass smog. Is there any other exhaust/exhaust system that I can get that has a low sound to it? I'm staying away from Greddy and such because it's just got too high of a sound for my liking. I plan on still making it loud but within the legal 95 dB limit. If it comes down to it, I will go with Greddy or something but for now, I want something with a low tone. Thanks!

well if you have the invidia midpipe thats most of your problem right there. none of the exhaust are going to be quiet anymore. i would say the gen 1 f-sport exhaust(no emblem) but even that will be loud with invidia mid pipe

Thing is, I think even if I have the invidia mid pipe, I don't think I will pass 95 dB. I tested out my current setup and I didn't go passed 85 dB at 3500 RPMs. I would have gone with the F sport exhaust but it's got too high of a tone. I was thinking of Borla or Magnaflow but I was wondering if I had any other options.

see thats why i said the gen1 f sport exhaust vs the gen2 f sport. the gen2 is louder. i have just the gen1 f sport axle back and my car has nice deep resonance but its not really "loud"

i thought the exact same thing at one point. i thought one just had no emblem and the other didnt. but that wasnt true. come to find out the gen1 version actually was 2 mufflers, the gen2 was one muffler and the other was a "dummy muffler" aka not a muffler at all. its straight through hence why the gen2 version is louder

the gen2 is dual mufflers to the naked eye, but its actually one real muffler and the other is a dummy muffler. it just looks like a muffler, its really a straight pipe in a muffler body(thats why the gen2 version is louder than the gen1)

oh ok I see. do you know if Borla makes an exhaust system for the '12 IS? they seem to make exhaust systems for first gen IS and all gens for the IS F but I just can't seem to find one for the second gen IS.

Have you ever looked into the Tanabe Touring Medallion? It's got a real deep bassy note, almost too deep I kinda sometimes wished it sounded higher pitched. It's also quiet, under 93dB.

Also ditch the mid-pipe if you want to pass CA smog, anytime you remove cats you won't be passing smog unless you replace it with a HFC at least. I passed CA smog in my STi with a 200 cell HFC surprisingly.

thanks a lot for your input I actually haven't looked into Tanabe Touring Medallion cuz I've heard some of Tanabe's products and they were all too high pitched for my personal taste but I will see into those. Are all HFCs legal in Cali? Or only specific ones? Do HFCs have the same function as a midpipe?

so I looked into the Tanabe Touring Medallion and it's still too high pitched without some kind of midpipe imo. If I decide to go with the Tanabe exhaust, I'm not sure if my invidia midpipe will make it have a lower tone because I may just put it back after getting it to pass smog. It's about $100 cheaper than MagnaFlow but I know for sure MagnaFlow is almost just as low toned as MR. I'm just not sure that if I go with Magnaflows, do I have to buy separate catalytic converters for the catback exhaust
