Probably just his intuition of the fluid dynamics of trying to move a fluid at a certain pace being hampered by it consolidating into one line. Depending on some variables, it's true tee-ing the two could be counter productive.

^^^ Thank you Yes, in other words the heat absorbed by the oil as it passes over the turbine bearings increases its volume. If you do not use larger return lines, it will restrict its flow. Granted the 3SGTE uses a gravity return system to its sump,...but the science is there.

I've been driving the car without the turbos for the past 3 days and all I can say is that the car is slow as ****!!!

Never realized how much hp the snails actually created.

If I sell this kit I'll have to build another one ASAP!!! I can't drive this thing any longer without boost!

Does the shop charge you for labor for removing and installing the turbos?

I can remove or reinstall the turbos at any time. Takes about 1 hr to put them back on. I had the shop custom make some flanges so that when I didn't want to run the turbos, I can simply bolt on the exhaust tips.

Ummm... I honestly don't know, nor have I actually calculated the total I've spent on this setup (should be in the $4500 range) . I'm picking up new turbos and oil pumps tomorrow morning. I can't live without boost any longer!

^Makes me LOL when you say that! I said to myself after having a 400whp Honda that I'd not be able to drive anything with any less HP. Well, the IS350 has such friendly torque range that I don't miss it at all. Bye bye boost lag! The Lexus has been twice as fun to drive compared to the Honda.

RWD FTW

OP, I am curious about the A/F ratios you are getting and how you have provided more fuel to the combustion chamber.

I am not spraying any more fuel. The ECU automatically adjust to the increased airflow and compensates for that. As may of the other forced induction guys said before... It is not recommended to run more than 7lbs of boost for that same reason as you start leaning out the stock fuel system at WOT.

You say this but you have yet to hook up a wideband or pull any of the plugs to see how the engine is doing. You did say however that during a highway pull the car went in to limp mode. That doesn't sound like all is well to me...
One thing people keep over looking is that Mike and Heyarms are both running meth injection kits. Going back through old posts Heyarms had dangerously lean AFR's prior to the meth (spikes near 15.0:1).

Just picked up a new pair of snails. This time instead of the T3 .48 turbos, I got a pair of T3 .63 turbos with an 8lb internal wastegate. I won't be installing these until I get a new oil pump and the A/F ratio gauge. Looking at meth injection kits as we speak.

I see that most kits come with an adjustable boost controlled switch that ranges from 1-25 lbs. Would that mean that I will only need meth after a certain amount of boost or would I have to monitor the A/F gauge to make sure at what PSI to start injecting?

Personally, I would have stayed with the smaller housings with the IS250. Snow Performance is a great resource for meth injection.

You don't need a boost controller on your setup; it is your right foot! LOL! Might I recommend a WOT switch for the meth kit.

I wasn't referring to a boost controller. I was referring to a boost controlled meth switch.

^I would imagine a WOT switch would be better for your setup.
