[Installed] Injen Short Ram Air Intake
#16
I don't think warm air is really an issue. When you remove the stock air box there is an inlet pipe that runs from the front of the car into the area where the exposed filter is sitting therefore I would think during acceleration you would be forcing outside air right to where the filter is. The car definitely sounds louder with the intake during acceleration. Here is my takada setup:
Yours looks like a good solution.
Thanks!

not utilzing the stock air box or F sport airbox that will come out soon will result in a lot of dirt and grim in your engine bay and the hot air as described even with the heat shield. I had the same intake and took it out after a week and returned it becuase of this problem. Joe Z has the intake tube that goes into stock air box which connects direclty to front intake and resovles this problem.if not wait for the f sport intake to come out. Looks good but just some food for thought

Had the same issue when I installed a Joe-Z intake. It was likely caused by the MAF adapter or a vacuum seal issue. Either way, this resolved it:
Unplug your battery and drain it for good measure. Just stand on the break pedal and press the horn a few times. Reinstall the new intake and make damn sure the vacuum line that connects to the intake tube is on there tight, that the clamps on both ends of the intake tube are on there tight, and that the MAF adapter is connected properly. Reconnect your battery and start the car. It may shut itself off after a couple seconds of idling. Restart it - now it should stay on and your check engine and trac lights should be gone.
