Yes, The Lexus IS F features an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission with sequential shift which can lock-up the torque converter from 2nd through 8th gears (see also: Lexus IS transmission specifications). The SPDS is derived from the unit introduced in the 2007 Lexus LS, which was the first vehicle to carry an 8-speed transmission.[34] The SPDS allows for shifts to occur in 0.1 s (100 ms),[35] compared to 0.05 s (50 ms) of F1 race cars.[36] The wheel-mounted paddle shifters allow for gear shifting while steering, and a manual mode can be selected for added control.

F1 gear boxes when I recall actually shift their gears in 30 ms.

I use my Paddle shifter frequently and I enjoy using it. I find it very helpful during the spirit run.

I use it to dowshift while coming fast at the end of the straight before attacking turns. It helps to slow down the car, improve traction and keep the engine in its power band during the exit of the turn.

Very useful feature to have.

It'll be nice if Lexus will go one step further if they have gear mapping therefore it would almost identical to which the F1 cars had before it was banned a few years ago.

Gear mapping allows the gears to up and downshift according to the rev. Therefore in terms of going on the race track, the car changes gears on its own as if the driver was shifting the gear using the paddle.

Wouldn't be Cost effective to have this technology in anything but a isf or better.... Most trannys like this are in the 9-12k range.

True paddle shifters all the way.

Ideally, if they implment the true automatic boxes like the F1 cars had before they were banned, then that's the best one (notice driver isn't touching the paddle shifter at all for up and down)!

After the automatic gearboxes were banned in 04. (driver touching paddle shifters for both up and down once again)

I own the 2012 S350, and the shifts between gears is smooth and responsive enough for the casual driver, but for an enthusiast, it leaves a lot to desire from it.

The speed info is sent from the transmission, if the transmission is moving it should send a signal to the speedometer. That's why when you change tire sizes or wheel sizes you throw off your speedometer reading since it's a calculate effort.
