building some jdm 1jz/2jzs
so my names tony, my buddy jareds from japan and is having his dad ship a few 1jz and 2jz gte's from japan. plan so far is goin single turbo t62 or t66, e85, 270 intake 260 exhaust, lightweight brian crower 3.4l stroker kit, aem v2, and thats about where we've ended up and of course in an is300.
since were stroking the 2jz, i think boring out the 1jz and getting it to rev as high and raspy as possible. accent the best of each engine for the differences they were designed for. this engine will be finding a lighter chassis suchas a 180 with an s15 front end or an old sprinter 86.
Ive been a 1uz fan and previous owner for forever, build a few vtecs and have worked on damn near any thing at one point or another. basicly i know these engines are built as anyone could pretty much ask for. my biggest questions, which i have found no conclusive evidence and i may have to use my bench flow tester when we get the engines in to find out but,...
is there any benfits to going 1.5jz? and what are the weakest points in these engines, 2jz in the hunt for oodlers of midrange torque and over the 900hp mark, and the 1jz being, as i said, a raspy rev happy, little monster with around 500hp. (much more usable and fun in a little chassis!)
any GOOD AND USEFUL COMMENTS are appretiated, and everyone else can down shift and buzz off! lol thanks again!
