I have the Fsport intake, w/ the box. There is no significant difference between the stock box vs the Fsport box. All you got to do is cut a square hole at the front and you will have a fsport box.

IIRC, someone drilled holes in their box to emulate the F-Sport box sound, and they did a before and after performance testing. The hole apparently showed a decrease in performance (not too much though)... I'm sure if you search for the thread on here, you'll be able to find it.

well yeah, cause he was introducing hot air into the system. Hot air will always sap the peak power.
Which is why most people see an increase in performance simply from wrapping their headers in thermal wrap. Dropping the overall temp in the engine bay by 35-50 degrees could do wonders for other air temp sensitive processes.
The f-sport intake is a pure marketing gimmick. Just like everyone else's....more sound != more power
