AEM/FIC which one for a GS 400
Hi Guys,
I have decided to do away with the apexi-neo and go with the AEM/FIC. The issue i am having is i am not sure which one i need. The basic description claims control over 4-8 injectors and allows for timing adjustments. I am NOT boosted, only a K&N Hi-Flow with the larger Ams Oil Filter. Do i need the AEM/FIC 6 or the AEM/FIC 8 for a 98 GS 400. The models i am looking at are the (30-1910). (30-1911) and (30-1930), which, if any is the correct one?. If you are currently running one or previously ran one on a 400/430 please respond, I have had enough of the CELs.
Clive.

Hi, guys,
My setup for the engine is k&n with the larger Amsoil filter with the apex neo,s&s headers,I was getting the cels before the headers so I changed the o2 sensors and maf and plugs from torque masters back to oem irridiums and still getting the CELs. I am convinced that the NEO is loosing the fight with the ECU.Whenever I get the CEL the performance is lessened, this happens if the car idles for an extended period,3 mins or more or after WOT. I had enough. The only difference between mine and Nick,s (Rock-A-Lex) is mine has the L-Tuned ECU.If you leave it long enough the CEL will go away but the sluggishness remains.I am just fed up.

the apexi safc works flawlessly with the stock ecu, and they dont "fight" each other. i just put my wideband back on my car again (after tuning it 8 months ago) and my air/fuel ratio is exactly the same (i already knew this from my dyno graph 2 months ago, but figured what the hell) my a/f ratio's are so rock solid, im actually very suprised.

hi guys,
I am not sure what the problem is as I have been getting CELs ever since I went with the larger Amsoil filter, maybe too much air, even with the Neo disconnected I still get CEL after WOT or long periods of idel. Any ideas? Any way from reading I see where this is not so uncommon and other members have had success with the AEM F/ IC, anybody else with real life experiences please chime in.
thanks, Clive.

Man...Clive I feel bad for you man. You still havn't straightened out that issue huh? I too have the oversized Amsoil filter (the one I recommended to you); no CEL codes here. I wish I could help. What was the code that you were getting again? Also, an O2 sensor could be faulty eventhough it is NEW! I would have them bench tested at a shop...also check for vacuum leaks. I have found a couple of times on my car that the vacuum hose leading to the PCV valve was almost completely off! This happened to me last year and gave me a lean code. GL!
