So I drilled

So I drilled
After looking at the pix of the F-Sport intake air box, I decided to drilled 16 holes on my OEM air box to work with the JoeZ pipe.
First thing I notice, the gas pedal is lighter, after that starting from 3500+RPM I hear a deeper sound...It is really nice sound
I am going to watch for my avg. MPG now, maybe I am going to get a little bit less now...
Let me know what do you guys think? Should I drill more make it 20 for more air.

Removing the carbon filter shows a 1 hp loss consistently. Ask caymandive.
Airflow is neither intuitive nor obvious.

Y'all realize that you could be hurting performance, don't ya?
The existence of all those fins in the airbox means Lexus did the requisite R&D/bench flow testing and decided to put those fins there for a reason. Sorry to be such a buzz kill but by drilling all those holes in the box, you may have negated all of that.

If it does, and I agree with you that Lexus does their homework, then the holes are probably most effective without the fins. Therefore, leave the stock airbox alone or drill holes and shave the fins down. Correct?

Has anyone actually measured a performance gain from the F-Sport airbox? I'd want to know that before I drilled any holes.
