Turbo Build Diary

Yeah, I read up about that in the IS.net forums a few days ago and I talked to Jason over at JPI today. I'm gonna take the plunge to standalone. Not gonna mickey mouse around with piggybacks. I'm just gonna do it right the first time around. My eventual power goals are gonna be north of 600-700hp or so. No point in buying piggyback now, and rebuying and reinstalling everything again later. That place Dezod Motorsports has the EMS with a Plug N Play harness for $2000. It's a pretty good deal I'd say
Good choice...At the end, with piggyback; buying and selling of it; alot of time and money is lost at the end. Getting the standalone at first will save you alot of headaches and alot of time. I wanted to go piggyback with my setup also, but the car has been down for about 1 1/2 years now, so I don't see how a few more months of time spent saving money for a standalone will hurt.

Gonna replace with the Supra TT Auto rear end with LSD. There are a ton of supra guys pushing monstrous HP thru their rear ends so 600-700hp isn't a big problem. As for the tranny, one of my friends friend builds racing tranny's for a living. He's gona do a full race rebuild on the tranny including cryo treating all the parts and upgrading all the weaker components. He said he will gaurantee the tranny not to fail. If it does, then I guess I'll have to start saving for the V160 6-speed swap lol

Im fighting between gte swap or na-t. My main problem is emissions. The Aristo ECU wont work and I would fail. All they do is hook it up check for codes and thats it. They wont put it on the rollers or anything. But if they hook it up and it doesnt read the ECU correctly, you fail. Would it work to do stand alone controlled na-t swap and swap back in the stock ecu to pass and swap it back out when done. I dont want to have to worry about some shady deals to pass. Anyone dealt with this delema?

that looks like a bridge connecter for the ecu, it enables you to cut the wires in the "bridge" instead of cutting the oem wires. thus if you go back to stock, you'll have no cut wires and keep the oem 'look'
