Default 1jzgte sc400

if you just switch out to mkiv motor mounts will the 1jzgte w/ vvti be able to be swapped into a sc400? if this is a stupid question sorry im stupid. i did the search and only read through one page and i didnt find nothing and i need this info fast. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Converting an SC400 from a 1UZ to a 1JZ is alot more involved. Aside from motor mounts, you'll need a transmission(stock SC400 tranny won't bolt up) and Driveshaft. Not to mention trying to figure out how to get the ECU to work. That is just the beginning. Good luck to ya. If you decide to go through with it, post the results and what you did to get it working.

A guy in Australia did that with his 4.0 V8 Soarer

But yeah, he changed the transmission and got aftermarket engine management. Pretty cool though, he kept all stock luxuries (indash TV etc)

Why bother? All that money (and a good 6 to 12 months of headaches) will only get you maybe an extra 50 or 60 hp, a car that can't be serviced just anywhere, and probably won't pass smog? After that the performance upgrades are still just as expensive. Better to wait and spend the money on a supercharger system when they are final. Probably get more hp for less $.

i know this is an old thread but my buddy has a sc400 and wants to swap a 1jz in. hows hard is the wiring?? same as the sc300?? searched but couldnt find any real info.
