Default In need of assistance from the crew...P1755

Ok guys I am well and truly in need of help. I have a 97 SC400, with a motor that I refreshed and installed a couple of months ago. At that time I also drained all the ATF from the trans and converter, and installed new front and rear seals. It ran great, both motor and trans.
Here's today's story: I was searching for a small oil leak today and in the process removed the driver's side distributor and cam position sensor. Re installed everything, ran the car at idle for about 15 min.- all was well.
Took the car to the gas station, it ran great! Came out about 20 min. later, started the car and it idled very low and rough, and surged (300-600 rpm).

- I put it in gear and it drove, but with very little power.
-The tach displayed zero rpm even though the engine was turning at road speed (50mph).
-The transmission shifted through all the gears, there was no strange noise.
-Tach will not register over 1000 rpm. (goes to zero when revved).
-My code scanner shows code 1755 (Linear Solenoid for Lock−up Control Circuit)
-Neither the code scanner nor a battery disconnect can clear the code.

I am suspicious of the transmission related code, because of the engine performance issue and the tach. I re-checked the cam pos. sensor connection and all was well. Could it be a bad ECM? And what should I check?

Any advice on how to proceed?

Regards,
M.R.

Update- well it looks like I have /had two separate problems.

The rough running, lack of power, tachometer problems were due to a cracked coil wire on the driver's side. Replaced wire and it runs great again!

However, I still have the code P1755 (Linear Solenoid for Lock−up Control Circuit), which I can not get rid of even after a "battery nap" and trying the clear codes function on my (cheap) code reader.

Anyone have a suggestion for how to clear this code?

Regards,
M. R.
