Door hinge issue / ECM question
The door hinge on my 1992 SC300 5spd. has started to clip the rear edge of the front fender. It chipped the paint on both, on a car that has very nice paint.
I opened the door, grabbed it by the leading edge and pulled. It no longer clips the fender. Why did this happen, and how can I prevent it in the future?
I also have a 93 5spd with a Greddy Turbo / Intercooler kit. I took it to the tuner shop to have the boost increased, and they did not want to do it as the ECM was not tuneable. Where can I get a better ECM? Doe anybody know a good shop in the Green Bay WI area?
BTW I figured out why my prior post was moved.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

It sounds like your driver's side hinge may need replacing or rebuilding. For rebuilding there is a fellow listed through PlanetSoarer who may still be offering a rebuild service for Soarer hinges. They are the same as SC300/400 door hinges. However he's based in Australia. I'm not sure who might offer hinge rebuild service in the USA.
For your ECU... are you still using the stock 2JZ-GE M/T computer with a piggyback controller? It's better to upgrade at least to a used JDM Aristo (automatic only but will work with a manual car) 2JZGTE ECU for NA-T cars. Very affordable and very boost friendly:

That, or if you want to work with an ECU that you can program with a laptop you can go with an AEM V2, ProEFI 128 and some others. Those options are getting up there in price, however.
