Replace 1JZ-GTE Twins w/Single With Minimal Mods
Hi
I've been reading about people replacing the CT12As on their first-gen 1JZ-GTEs with the help of aftermarket ECUs and injectors and whatnot, but is it possible to simply replace the twins with a single while using a stock ECU and as close-to-stock configuration as possible?
I'm looking for a budget-friendly method of dealing with the inevitable failure of the CT12As involving minimal modification.
And for replacement turbos, is there a recommended size for the replacement turbo or bolt-on conversion kits that fill in the void in the piping between the manifold and single turbo where the twins used to take up space?
I'm a noob to all of this and while it's exciting, it's also a bit overwhelming.
Thanks.
Edit: I've been told that the Apexi S-AFC 2 can help me out, but I'm not exactly sure how it affects how the stock ECU handles things.
