Default SC300 Headgasket question

Last night a bought a '94 SC300. 180K miles. Driving home after I bought it I stopped at a gas station to take the usual "new car pic". Then I noticed the car was throwing steam out the exhaust, opened to hood and took oil cap off to notice steam also coming out the valve cover too (with oil cap off). Then said "**** bhg FML" to myself. Car didn't overheat the rest of the way home, nor this morning after I drove it around. The steam doesn't really smell like burnt coolant either. Car seems to work and drive fine, temperature is right at halfway, and no "bubbly" noises coming from reservoir. Could I have a bhg? Thanks

the first thing you need to do is drain the oil and coolant, check the coolant for oil, smell the dip stick
