Default Cleaning OBD2 Maf

Hi guys. Just bought a 99 SC400. Was wondering if its ok to clean these types with maf cleaner/electric parts cleaner from CNC.
Thanks!
Also if i can, how do i go about it? I have cleaned mafs before but im used to seeing a dirty "hotwire" Lol.

You're fine to use the standard MAF cleaner spray. Karmen vortex AFM's ceased production is Lexus vehicles in the year 1996. As far as cleaning it, as far as I know all you got to do is spray the internals.

CRC MAF cleaner will work with Hotwire MAF's (You have a hotwire in your 99). I've been using the spray for 9 years on my 97 SC300 and it made a big difference on my IS300 I just bought recently (this had never been cleaned in 80k miles)

You just spray into the air inlet on the MAF (the circle with the vanes crossing it like an +
Hose it like theres a spider in there and you're trying to kill it. Then let it drive for a minute, then do it again. Repeat. I sprayed my IS300 maf 6 times before I was convinced it was clean lol

You can clean the hotwire MAF all day long with the CRC spray, it's the pre-96 AFM's you don't wanna touch.
