Electrical shortage on acceleration above 2000rpm
Just replaced my alternator in my 93 sc300 with a supra tt 100amp , I do have a 5spd swap, but after I changed my alternator, about a week later I have been driving and under more than moderate acceleration at about 2500rpm my dash flickers and my double din completely shuts off then turns back on, this is my second tt alt, and I've have also changed the 7.5amp fuse, I'm just not sure why this is happening, maybe a bad alt?

It was the voltage regulator , I swapped it out with the one that the distributor leaked on, the post was all burnt up...smh.....thanks Ali SC3

yeah you wouldn't be the first one to have the regulator issue, the voltage goes too high or is too choppy for certain electronics and then everything starts acting weird. generally the alternators don't go bad as often as the regulators. good fix though don;t forget to change the distributor o-ring out soon to stop the leak and you will need a timing light to reset the timing after.
