Need Some ATF Speed Auto Transmission Info.
I am looking for some info on the ATF Speed Stage 3 A340 auto transmission. Trying to decide on if I am going to stay auto or go R154 in my SC4. Does anyone have any experience with it, and can advise on its longevity? How much power are you putting on it, how many miles, smoothness, etc. I am looking for any info, good and bad to aid in my decision.
Thanks!

I have it in one of my cars, anything below 800rwhp ..you are good . Though I am above that . Second gear sprag is billet . ATF says not to abuse it above 800rwhp since that is where they pegged the power it can widthstand. Though it is the torque I was told that kills it.
Now depending on your power and torque level and use of your car, I will choose an ATF Auto TT Tranny over an R154. If you really want a manual tranny and again depending your power/torque level, I will just save till I can afford a V160. Longevity is relative to how you use and maintain your car.

I cant see myself going beyond 600hp from a 1J (so lower torque). 2nd gear is starting to slip on me, and am hearing what sounds like the pump whining. So was looking at either R154 or this built auto. Sounds like I might just try out this built tranny.
Can you go full throttle without letting up going into 2nd? What torque converter are you using? Do the other gears hold up to the power as well?
Thanks so much!

I have a 3800 stall converter with the ATF . You are advised to do burn out on 1st (manually) to avoid letting it go to 2nd which is I understand is the weakest that is why they have to use a 2ng gear billet sprag.
I have over 10k miles on the setup and I know I have pushed it in open highways many times and I have no problem so far. I don't go to the drag strip though.
