Leaky tb/ Manifold gaskets....RTV???

well the metal egr gasket is the kind that has the factory black rubber coating, its very similar to the IACV gasket except its part of the lower intake gasket, the one that goes between the runners and the head. so that seals the EGR port on the head to the lower runner, no rtv necessary. My thought was cutting another one off a spare head/runner gasket, and using it between the spot on the lower runner and the block off plate. should make a perfect seal without any RTV needed.
I have done this on my spare motor but it hasn't gone in a vehicle yet. but when mine comes off I am going to do it to my sc300 also instead of using silicone in the future.
*edit* or did I already do it on both now I can't remember I will have to go look, but I think this way you won't have to use RTV.
Just wish we didn't have to sacrifice a good gasket to do it, but I had a spare GTE gasket set laying around I cut it off of, its the same shape.
looks like this, see egr gasket on the right (both ge and gte gasket shown). should need no coating at all to seal.

From your description, and what I found of pics, the SC3 and SC4 have a fairly different EGR valve & gasket setup. I see $3 gaskets on eBay for the SC3 that are some sort of soft material that probably seals well, but the only SC4 ones are bare metal like mine. So, I think we were talking about two different things. Yours would be way easier to fashion a replacement.

I'm not sure which vendors are okay to link to for sample images, but it pops up at the top of a Google search.

what do you mean by bare metal then? if its the black color metal gasket with a raised ring around the center hole, thats the kind you want. it will seal without any rtv no problem as long as its in good shape still. now if its flat shiny metal color gasket then thats a plain metal gasket and may not seal right.
the link you showed me shows the kind of ones I was talking about, the black metal ones with the raised part around the center holes.
I am seeing the raised edge gasket so I assume thats the stock gasket, if yours is different then maybe someone changed it out with a non factory part.
I am seeing 2 other plates for the block off plate kit.
the 2 that are similar look like the sc300 one, a similar size gasket can be used or just use the stock ones if they are the kind mentioned above with the raised edge.

That looks exactly like the badly deteriorated one I scraped off, so it likely was the original as I figured.
