Fuel pump upgrades, mount corrosion
Has anyone had experience refinishing the factory fuel pump mount for the SC3/400? It doesn't seem to much like ethanol mix in gas, just like the original pumps.
I'm considering powder coating the mount and using stainless zip ties to possibly accommodate dual walbro 255 HP pumps. My main concern is whether high octane pump gas with up to 10% ethanol mix will eat away at a powder coat finish. I've found in reading online that E85 will.
I could weld a stainless bracket for the pumps, if needed. I've seen some aftermarket mounts for sale. They are crazy.
I'd like to hear your experiences with factory fuel pump hardware and ethanol mix pump gas, and I will do more research in the meantime before deciding on a replacement for the OEM fuel pump.
