Unhappy Idle Problems

Yesterday I changed my spark plugs from Bosch to the NGK platinum. I now have this weird problem while idle, the car kinda stutters and acts like it wants to cut off. Any fixes for this?

My idle was acting kinda funky after miscellaneous engine bay work. I saw a thread recommending to change out the old, dry rotted vacuum hoses. It's only been a couple of days, but I haven't noticed an idle issue since. Some of my hoses were in pretty rough shape, so maybe one of them got disturbed just enough to throw things off?

If you want to give it a shot, it's 5/32" (or 4mm) and you'll need anywhere from 6' to 11', depending on whether you want to change out the three longer runs. I picked it up for ~$1/ft at Autozone.

I'm also wondering in your case if it could be something about the plugs/wires themselves. Did you use dialectric grease?

Like Ali said, you probably missed a vacuum hose somewhere. There are so many it's like navigating around Los Angeles.

How many VAC lines do you have to remove to just replace the plugs?

You didn't connect one of the plugs.

I've never compared with/without, but I'm told it's important.

I've tried everything you guys suggested and still no luck. I even went back to my old spark plugs. I also get some black smoke from exhaust when i give it some gas. It seems like its burning too much gas cause i can smell it too. Any suggestions?

you may have a bad wire now or something like that. did you change your cap and rotor ever? did you start having the problem before you changed plugs or only after?
