Default New Timing belt, water pump, radiator. OVERHEATING?

Hi,
I just got a new timing belt kit, water pump, radiator installed. The car never overheated but it is now. Just checked thermostat and it was open. Mechanic said he bled it well. Any ideas what it could be?
It is a 1UZ.

Try burping the system anyway.
Mech. might not have bled it as well as he said.

Can you hear any burbling/bubbling when the car is running?

As mentioned above it could be air still trapped in the cooling system. Try bleeding it again. Is your hydro fan setup working as it should?

Thank You.

YES!
Crazy burbling, gurgling sound through the upper hose when detached from the radiator.

Does that mean air in system?

Fan seems cool.

If the thermostat is working fine it might be air in the coolant system. The fill-up bolt of the coolant is at the top of the thermostat neck. Make sure he refills the coolant from there not just the coolant reservoir, you won't have that problem.

Yes, most likely air in the system, also pay attention to what turbodremz said as well, you definitely want to run the heater when you do it.

An old trick is to pour some coolant into the resevoir and fill it to the top. The container should have an air bleeding hole and as the coolant is circulated through the engine, the air is "burped" out into the resovoir. It is likely air in the system.

*Of course you fill the radiator coolant directly into the rad as well.

Thanks KP!
When I arrived, he had a funnel/bottle in that exact hole filling it with red.

Awesome, if it's not already sorted, we will try this.
Thank You!

Ha......
The new water pump broke immediately after installation. It was an Aisin (or something like that).
The plastic disk that spins was broken in half when he pulled it back out. I just will have to take the loss as I have been sitting on this timing belt kit since last year. Should have done it right away.

Aisin is usually the OEM brand which also has Toyota stamped on it. Wow brand new oem part failed. Glad you got if figured out before it ruined your motor.
