Default Power steering pump for 1999 SC400

Team,

I need a pump for a 1999 SC400, cant seem to find one anywhere but the dealer. Anyone purchased a 98-2000 pump recently, where did you buy it from. Reman is fine, though i think all are reman at this point.

LS400 PS pump works. I think my mechanic only had to swap the bracket from the SC ps pump to the LS pump and it bolted on without issue.

What year pump did he put on...the same year in the LS400 family. Just to be clear, are you talking about your 2000 SC400?

I can get you one from where I work. It will take a week or two to order since its not something we stock. It's Cardone brand. PM me if you're interested. Looks like you're in Florida, so that's better.

Yes, it was for my 2000. My mechanic had no problems finding the pump for the pre-98 SC400s, as he had ordered one and it did not fit on my 2000 when he tried to install it.

As you can see from this pic, the only difference is that the LS400 pump has the reservoir attached to the pump itself, whereas the SC pump is connected with a hose off the pump.

Just removed that bottle from the new/rebuilt pump, and installed the bracket connecting the old/original remote bottle/reservoir to the new/rebuilt pump and it bolted right on.

BUMP for this guy. I wasn't able to help him out. Cardone no longer stocks the part. They only R&R the parts with a 70% chance of it being fixed.

I received a 1999 LS400 pump, but it has one extra hole than the SC400, right next to the High pressure line exit. Did your Mechanic just put a stop in that hole and connect up everything else?

OK, after doing some reading on the LS400 and the prior year SC, it seems the ACV was directly connect to the PS pump, on my car it is connect to the high pressure PS line. So I should just be able to plug that hole and be ok..I will let you know and post pics of what worked or did not work

Go to a lexus dealership and ask how much just for the part. They have to have some available option for you.

I believe that is what he did, just plugged that extra inlet and connected everything up. So far, it has been working exactly like the stock SC pump.

And Biddles, the dealership option is outrageously overpriced since you have no choice other than to dump around $700 on a brand new unit vs. $150ish on a rebuilt LS400 pump.

So I installed my LS400 pump this morning works like a charm. Switched the bracket on the back, plugged the hole for the vac switch with this part dorman 785-422.

The bracket and the need for that plug is the only difference between the two.

Anyone tried to fit 92-95 year LS400 pump on SC400? I searched for pics to compare with my old one, but from pics I can't be 100% sure..
