Question 92 sc400 152k

Bought this 2 weeks ago,car runs great but every 3-4 days it will smoke blueish and grayish for about 4-5 minutes starts wit 1 big puff then dwindles down to nothing.I was thinking about seafoaming it,any suggestions.

Signs of a headgasket thats going maybe...hopefully this isn't the case with you.

Prob valve stem seals. Stay on top of oil consumption.

i heard marvel mystery oil was good, try that.

I have a back up engine & tranny...but iu sure hope its not the headgaskets.

just the valve stem seals, the headgasket would not go away.
they wear out and allow a little oil into the combustion chamber on startup until it warms up and seals.
they will keep getting worse, so next time you pull the heads off have them change it those out.
Its a tedious job since we have so many valves on these engines but everyone has to do it eventually.

well i have a feeling this was my problem wirh my car, lol no one said anyrhing about valve stem seals when i posted haha

it's common knowledge. when a mechanic hears "theres smoke commin out of the tail pipe" or "it's been sittin a few years and got it started but cant get rid of this smoke" valve seals is what comes to mind but gotta troubleshoot and see if it might be something else but generally thats the main symptom on any car.
