Default 99 sc300 loss of power.. help ?

hey guys.. i have a stock 99 sc300 and until recently it started to lose power as i drove it. ngk spark plug and wires were all replaced within the past year. it would just bogg pretty bad here and there.. especially when i start to accelerate from a stop, it would bogg really hard and then take off only to do more bogging. Anyone familiar with this ?.. i would really appreciate it

More on topic - any codes being thrown? Have you checked your fuel pump ecu, checked your MAF, changed your fuel filter, and changed your fuel pressure regulator?

...cleaned the injectors with gas cleaner? Wiped down throttle body? Checked your air filter? Could be about as many things as there are as many threads about this.

OP - I'm a little bit confused (or just reading way too in depth) but when you say that the plug wires were replaced, do you mean all of the coil-packs over the plugs were replaced?

On the other hand, it should be throwing some sort of code...I'm with these guys above though, it could be any number of issues... Did your search of the forum make any issues stand out at all?

check for oil where the spark plug area is. The 2jz valve cover usually leaks oil into the spark plug area and can cause miss fires. happened to a friends is300

Definitely agree with that!!! That was the first thing I had to do with mine when I bought it...turns out the valve cover gasket was so worn out the bolts holding the covers down were loose as crap.

Do you see a lot of oil spitting on the outside of the covers?
