Nice car and welcome. You have your options open for both given that you have an SC400 (SC300's generally only have turbocharger options although they are many). I'd do a lot of reading/searching for your questions if I were you. There are many supporting modifications to consider besides just more power.

You'll probably want to supercharge but as I said there are many, many ways to achieve this. Same goes for turbocharging the early (92-97) 1UZ.

I don't believe there is a standard kit for supercharging the car, more just a blower and the components to bolt it onto the engine. Then you need engine management in the form of a programmable ECU. AEM, maybe.

Then, are you planning on leaving it automatic or are you thinking of a manual swap?

supercharger all the way. you will have to be carefull the 97 sc400 motors have the skinnier rods so you don't want to push too much boost and have a safe tune. this is a good thread to read.

I say boost it. There will be plenty of torque down low and throughout the power range.

pay pal me 4k+ shipping and ill send you my single turbo setup! lol On a side note, there is no cheap way, no best kit or anything related. Why because there isnt a big company that mass produces a 1uz turbo/blower kit. If there was you might see more force induction sc400's and ls400s and all the cars that share the uz engines. But sounds like you need to read a bit more info on the 1uz and what not.
