Weird issue...do i have a different diff?
So i got my black sc300 about a year ago. I never really drove it much but when i finally took it on the highway i noticed my RPMs were around 4,000 @ 60-65 MPH.....it looks like it does shift through all 4 gears and OD is working (drops a gear when i hit the OD off).
This car was mistreated to begin with so i'd like to say that the differential may have been swapped with another.
Any ideas?

I do not know of any OE Lexus rear gears shorter than the SC autos 4.27:1. Most would then lower the rpm, does the engine truely sound and behave as if it was turning that RPM?, or is there a chance the RPM signal is getting muffed, leading to the higher indication on the tach?? Hmmmm...
