Default 95 SC300 issue

I have a friend with a 95 SC300. It started having issue with no staying running and it would hesitate badly. So we did a tune up, not it, Then I change the MAF and it ran great for about 2 weeks and it started again, So thought maybe the MAF I got from the junk yard was bad so I bought another one and it ran great for like 3 days and the Issue is back.

CEL is one and it has code 71 when you can pull it. I know the Code 71 is a EGR and is a command issue with the 95 SC300, but at times you can not pull a code from the ECU, works when it wants to. Do you guys think the ECU is going bad?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

could possibly be the PCMgoing bad but i would follow the pinpoint test for code 71. should be in the "SC Bible" my guess is it is in the EGR circuit going to or from the PCM. if anyone can chime in does the PCM supply reference voltage to the EGR valve?

Mine did this and was a fuel injector stuck open which could be the injector or pcm .
