Default Grinding/rubbing sound when starting 1992 SC400

My SC400 has been making a grinding/rubbing noise when it starts. I hear the starter sounding like it's supposed to, but on top of that noise, there was a grinding noise, like a rough pulley or something. not a click, not tapping, or metal grinding, just grinding. I'll film it being started soon so you know what it sounds like.

(When I bought the car, there was a brand new starter in the trunk.)
(And an A/C compressor, and a big bag of gaskets, and condenser and drier...!!!)
Car is running perfectly.
Help please?

where is the video? From what you tell I think that may be the starter that has some play.

I also have this same noise right after starting my 95 sc4 and this is what the Lexus dealership diagnosed it as.

It sounds as if the starter runs for half a second or so after the car starts.

They said it would cost a small fortune to fix but won't do any harm as is so I'm leaving it alone.

It's ONLY when starting the car. as soon as the car starts the sound dissipates completely
I've searched the CL threads but no go....
