Default 1jz idle/running issues

Finally finished my 1j swap and the motor started up fine. however when I went to drive it I pushed in the clutch and the motor just died. And continued to do so even after the motor had warmed up.

Also it never feels like it ever goes into boost. its slower then before the swap. and it doesnt feel like it has power steering at all.

Could these all be problems with vacuum lines?

one last thing is there is a grey sensor looking thing on the intake manifold that has the plug plugged into it and it is not wired in. is this important for the vehicle to run correctly?
