Question O2 Sensor Issues. CEL. Simulators? Skid plate?

Well, recently i had to replace my post cat oxygen sensor on my 1998 SC300. I guess all the scraping and what not managed to funk it up. So, i went ahead and purchased one on eBay that fit. Installation went smoothly, but of course, the CEL doesn't go away. It's code P0155. About a week later of clearing the code/driving/clearing, i managed to break this one while trying to go into a parking garage. Apparently the post cat O2 sensor likes to sit lower than the frame rail. At this point, i don't really feel like buying another O2 sensor knowing i'll just end ripping it out again. So here's where i stand:

I can either buy another O2 sensor, this time a good one, in hopes to rid the CEL. (Is it true that when there's a CEL for the O2 sensor, the car goes into a limp mode? i read this somewhere, but can't remember the source) But then i am likely to rip it out again, so a skid plate may be in order. Anyone make a skid plate that goes that far back? I'd like to see it!

Or, i can buy an O2 simulator. The tokensolutions one looks really nice but has been sold out. I found another one but it states for 04+ Lexus vehicles only. Anyone have experience with these?

And i guess my last option is, to leave it how it is now. I've been running the car with the CEL and the upper half of the O2 sensor plugging the hole for a week now. If the car is not affected by a faulty O2 sensor, then this option seems a lot more appealing.

Any input from you guys is very much appreciated!

The o2 sensors that are below the cat are not important as the one above the cat. That's the one that sends a feedback to the PCM on how the car is running. The rear o2 sensor is just to monitor the cat.
