Mods for 1JZ that can be used on 2JZ
So...i have a 1jz/r154 combo right now on stock twins but will be putting a 2jzgte in around april-july, but in the meantime I would like to mod the 1j. My only problem is, I dont want to buy 1jz specific parts since they are harder to sell.
So far I have: 3" DP/Exhaust, Intake & FMIC with hardpipes, HKS evc-s boost controller, & HKS bov.
And i have a 1j lightweight pulley kit, 440 injectors, & 2jz map sensor laying around that I might use, or might sell. idk yet.
But I'm keeping the R154 with the 2j, but what mods can i/should i do in the meantime that I can transfer over to the 2j and its stock twins? S-AFC2? Aeromotive AFPR Kit? Clutch? Also, i've heard that 1j & 2j pulley kits will cause crankwalk. Is this true if you dont alter the crank pulley??
thanks for any input guys...im just ready for more power

Just sell all the stuff you have extra, and put it in a "2jz Swap" fund.
Drive the car stock, and love it until then.
Lightweight pully kits take the dampening effect off the crank pully in order to shave weight.
When there is no harmonic balancer to balance everything, the thrust bearing gets all shook up, takes a beating and could possibly walk. Same thing with 4g63's.
These are jz engines, remember? You don't need to trick it into making power.
But yeah, be smart. Do it right, or do it twice!
