Any updates?

Would like to get info on the axle setup. Just picked up an 8.8 out of a Lincoln MKVIII for $30, now I just have to figure out how to do the axles.

I was thinking about contacting DSS and purchasing the stub shafts and the inner cage, then either respline the stock supra shafts or purchase some raw 300m bar stock and having splines cut on both ends.

do solid axle 8.8 or 9".. the sc diff is same as supra.. soo why not just get lsd and gears for the sc300 diff?

he is referring to the slightly larger 6 speed diff which is a hair larger than the auto / SC diff's.
Still I would use a SC diff and call it a day it will hold more than a stock 8.8 diff or even a built one.
ratios seems to be the only advantage but I haven't hear of anyone needing close or longer ratios than we have available, maybe at the drag track I could see it being more useful.

alpha from titan motorsports was the one who originally posted the photos of the swap they did on a supra. he said they had 3 setups running the 8.8 ranging from 600 to a full caged drag car.!

The Ford 8.8IRS is an independent rear diff, not a solid axle.

I'm maybe reading this wrong, did you say the stock SC diff will hold more power than a built 8.8irs?

I meant more than the stock one as said in the thread. I don't know how much a built one will hold. I hope its alot more to justify the cost.
