Close up, those bolts go through the deck and nuts that we drilled out have other nuts on the bottom.

In this pic you can see where I drilled holes in the tabs to bolt it up to the plywood.

Is there enough room for air to get past the magnet? It looks like it's basically plugging up the hole.

Thanks Kris!!! All it was that I used is a old jig saw I had laying around and a scre driver

I don't know if air passes the magnet, had no idea it had to, all I know is the (top) of the speaker has to be separated from the bottom in order for it to sound good. There has to be separation other wise it'll sound like ****...

definitely does without it it was rattle city . going to put more underneath by the fuel tank. I'm upgrading my rear speakers to some crescendo un6.5 for some more midbass. I really like your setup. that carbon is very nice

Even with the factory Nakamichi sub I get a lot of rattles (with an aftermarket amp.)

Most of the air leakage and vibration is the two sardine can sized panels to either side of the sub. One is for the sub amp, the other is a symmetrical cutout for who knows what purpose. I mounted a mono amp to the underside of one to power my aftermarket sub and dynamatted over the top of both of them. Pictured here:

I ordered a kicker 10C104, and it fit perfectly on the bracket for my oem sub and the cover fit over it perfectly, but I can't bolt the bracket down because the sub won't slide through the rear deck. Did you guys have to cut/widen the hole in the rear deck to fit the sub through? What did you guys use to widen the hole?
