I have had the MAF unplugged for 3 days now, and it is an improvement over stock. The only thing I notice is the idling. It idles a little off, not bad, but noticeable. Its not as smooth as it was plugged in. I have deleted all three cats, and straight piped the exhaust, and a BFI with a K and N filter. I will keep it unplugged for a bit and check my mileage and maybe the odd idle will soon cure itself. Only time will tell. Mine is a 92 SC400, automatic.

Your idle will not go back to normal and the engine will enjoy a lot of gas.

It worked like an untuned carburetor car to me, misfiring sometimes.
Today I´ll do the 12v fuel pump mod, because my car starts, idle for some seconds and then shut off. (with the MAF plugged in by the way)
Maybe that is the problem that make it bogged between gears when I unplug the MAF. I´ll give it a second try, but when I tried it, I didn´t feel any improvement.

I think you mean backfiring. For me the car misses with the maf plugged in but not without it

Yes, backfiring. Sorry but my language is spanish and some times it´s difficult to explain. Backfiring with the MAF unplugged.

The 400 on stock ecu always lacks up top. I did highway pulls against redphoenix with his maf plugged in an we were dead even til redline...and he was safc'd. So I don't see how it can be lacking more than with maf plugged in.

The results are in. The mileage has taken a little hit, maybe 20-25 miles total or a gallon of gas. It does run, speed wise and has far better throttle response, than with it plugged in. It shifts kinda funny, like slipping when I floor it, but overall it pulls very well , when the O/D is off and its in second gear. This is my results.

So my two downstream O2 sensors are bad, and the two TPS's are going out too, so does this mean my MAF is probably not even working. My car hauls major *** and its all stock....?

I haven't tried this mod, although I will tonight.
