Default TPS Adjustment.

VVTi 2JZ How do you go about adjusting this, I accidentally tampered with mine just want to get it back to spec. I read voltage should be in the .60-.75 range. My question which wire do you check for the voltage and will the car be on or off?

Thanks

I just did mine on the TT. I wasn't checking for voltage though, it says you need to have a special splice harness that lets you check voltage with the ecu plugged.

Instead I checked for resistance.

I checked it at the sensor with the car off.

You will need a feeler guage set, and an accurate multimeter/ohm meter.

You have a factory service manual?

Ok Figured it out, Steps

1. Locate TPS wire on ECU
2. Secure your Volt meter to TPS wire + Ground.
3. With car off turn keys to on position
4. Loosen the (2) Phillip screws holding sensor in, sont loosen to much just so it can pivot.
5. Rotate it ever so slightly to you get the reading recommended.

Now your idle should be fixed.

Engine cold between .60-.70 volts DC
Engine warm between .65- .75

So you will just penetrate the wire insulation to get a voltage reading, or will you unplug the ecu plug to do it?

I just kept the ECU plugged in, my TPS wire was already cut and spliced with my SAFC so I just tapped in.

you can get it staight from the TPS. There should be 3 wires, 1 wire 5 volts constant, the other is a signal wire and last wire would be ground.

How we check it is hook up your multimeters positive to the signal wire with a small pin and the other to ground. I forgot which wire was which, test one if it reads 5 volts then tap into the other

Hi Guys.
Have a same prblem with TPS witch hase been moved and I would like to adjust it as it supposed to be IS300 VVTI 2002.
Is there a way without cutting wires etc?
I'm not sure if it works but I have found information to unplug the TPS with key turned off, and unscrew 2 little bolts, turn it to when it says .60-.75 between there..
I Think there is more then 2 wires so I'm not sure what tu measure?
If anybody could give me a hand with that it would be grate.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi guys, one important thing to remember is when putting the tps back on, you want to put it on at an angle and turn counter clockwise to line up the 2 screws. If you find yourself turning clockwise to line up screws on tps, you will force the throttle to be open and receive high rpm and pedal response issues, as well as check engine light.

even though i put it on counter clockwise
fhe car is still starting off with high rpms as soon as the car turns on
