Well, here soon this summer, I am going to be doing a motor swap. Im going na to na. Haha. Im building one motor and then im going to put it in my car. The motor thats actually in the car was rebuilt from lexus. I have a recipt that shows OVER 6K in work done to the motor alone. This was aprox 5K ago, which the recipt proves. I was wondering how much I should ask for it. It runs GREAT and would trust it to go anywhere, but I am going to build the other motor so I don't have any downtime. Let me know what you guys think.

its an oem motor with all oem parts. its not worth anything. 1000-1500 at best....if that.

buying a good used motor+new oem parts for rebuild+labor is still under 1500 bucks.

a 2jzge with 6000 miles or 106000 miles will generally run almost the same. they are very reliable unless you are a total idiot.

there's normally so many 2jzge's being pulled out of cars around where i live that you can almost always find a complete 2jzge motorset for $200-400

Unless you need the money I would just keep it as a spare...

Lol, the motor that had 6K worth of work done to it is in my car right now and its my DD. I cant afford to have my car down for much more than a week while I go through the turbo process. Im not looking to get anywhere NEAR 6K for it. I didnt spend the 6K to have it rebuilt. If I did, it sure as hell wouldn't be stock. I don't know WHY someone would rebuild it for 6K, but thats what you get when you buy a car that has only been to the lexus stealership. I think ill ask maybe $600 for it and see what happens. I can post it up localy and see if anyone wants to buy it local. I don't see it selling on here haha. Although it is nice to have an almost new OEM motor haha.

hmm lets see.. the motor that you have sitting, you should use to mock up the turbo setup.. and then have a day or two downtime installing it all on the rebuilt motor in the car.

downtime with that long list of cars???

Problem with your suggestion. I am going to do this right. I have to take the head off, get new valve seals installed, clean the head, get the head resurfaced, and replace misc gaskets. I have an HKS 2MM head gasket thats going on the car and I cannot afford to have this not be perfect.

What does my list of cars have to do with anything haha.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

That's cool! It's an often skipped step.

( I dunno why, guess I misread you and got the impression you weren't pulling the short block apart... just the head )
