I have seen one tonight at my buddy's shop on one of the race car, it looks nice but you don't need that seriously.

When I was a little boy (lmaol, meaning didn't know much. Not that I know much now ) I bought one for my first 2jzgte build and used it and took it out on the next engine build. Not worth the 4 or 5 hp you gain for the price of +$450 . Then it robs a lot of electrical power (amps) .. .8 to 10amp.

In my opinion a mechanical water pump's service life will outlast an electrical water pump . It will alsol flow more in higher RPMs. The faster the engine runs , the more coolant is circulated. An electrical water pump will have a fix volume of coolant circulation .

yeap... not in my books at least .

I guess that's why you hardly hear it being used by the MKIV or 2jz guys.

I bought one because of that assh?le who pretended to know and was building my first project. Got me to buy it.

Electric water pumps are for 1/4 mile track cars, not for the street. they don't have the capacity or reliability for day to day use

This is what I discovered after putting a Meziere electric water pump on my Integra 12 years ago. Lots of complications with the cooling system - it overcooled during the late fall, winter, and early spring months, and didn't cool enough when summer temps got over 100*F. Then sucked so much electricity that I needed to buy a HO alternator just so it would stop killing batteries and oem alternators. Then, to top it all off, the lifespan of the electric pump is only 3000 hours. That sounds like a lot, but for me on a daily driven car it only took 2 years for the pump to get noisy to the point that I knew it was due for a rebuild

I like the idea of an electric waterpump; but for a completely reliable setup, stick with the oem.
