Default What year did water pump change?

Replacing a water pump and the housing I purchased does not match what is originally on the car. What year did it switch to a different style? Thanks,

Jonny

Hello! Did you ever figure this out? I have a 98 SC300 and am about to do the timing belt service, but not sure which one to buy. There is a 10 hole and a 11 hole. Also, I am not sure if I need to go with the OEM or if I can buy the Aisin. I have heard that the Aisin is suppose to be the OEM manufacturer, but also read a couple places where people have had trouble with it. Are some of the water pumps 2 pieces and others just 1?

Thanks,

Michael

The Aisisn (sp?) is the factory one, I've done the 100k belt/pump change on several different Lexus vehicles & that brand was what was on them.

I have a 96 motor and a 93 motor - one has the 10 bolt and one has the 11 bolt.

It will fit, but you have to make it work because the studs on the newer WP are smaller and weaker, it won't let you install the clutch fan because the studs are too small you need longer studs, and EVEN with the longer studs the pattern is different .
