Hhhmmmm... important enough that its there? Where you trying to save some weight? It barely weighs anything.

Not trying to save weight, I was just curious because I have to remove it to repair a really annoying exhaust leak and if it was not important I would leave it off, but I decided to put it back on.

Right in the middle where the 2 pipes separate there the weld is pretty much gone
