EGR valve on 92 SC 400?
I am noticing mild hesitations at around 40 mph, and have read the threads on 95 and newer EGR valves and disconnecting or deleting them. My 92 valve is vacuum operated, but I wonder if it could be contributing to these symptons? Would disconnecting the vacuum and plugging lines be sufficient to at least test if there is an operating improvement? I have cleaned the small filter under the cap with no improvement. My car has 142k miles and is bone stock.

Your EGR modulator may have gone bad. You can check a couple of things. On the modulator, you can snap off the top cap and check for signs of carbon build-up. The other things to do is use a vacuum pump attached to the bottom part of the value. It should hold a vacuum. It it doesn't, then you have a bad EGR modulator.
