Default breaking up around 3.5-4k after 440cc swap????

So after installing the mk3 440cc injectors and a 10ohm resistor box, The car starts breaking up or misfiring around 3.5-4k rpms. I tried changing the spark plugs and still with the same issue. I disconnected the charge pipe to the throttle body to see if it was only happening under boost but even as NA, it is still breaking up. Anybody have any ideas as to what it might be?

doesn't seem like the upgrade is enough to start flooding the engine with fuel...not sure

Try the plug wires I had the same problem and turned out to bo the plug wires. I actually found it by mistake at night you could see the spark jumping around and it got real bad above 4 grand. Next try cap it might look ok but the slightest carbon build up will cause spark jump.

So i replaced the distributor cap, rotor, plug wires, and plugs... still breaking up, though slightly better. I really cant start to guess what it might be.
would a problem with the resistor box or wiring that with the new injectors that could cause the problem?

I think this is your problem.. 440cc injectors that come in the JDM motors and the MKIII Supra are already High Impedance so the use of a resistor box is not needed. For example, upgrading from 440cc injectors in an
2JZGTE/Aristo motor to USDM 550cc injectors, you would need the resistor box because as stated the 440cc injectors are already high impedance and the 550cc injectors are low impedance. You only need a resistor box when running a low impedance injector. Ditch the Resistor box and you should be okay! Good luck...

I thought the 7M injectors were low impedance?

MK3 440cc are low imp.

I have heard of the fuel pump starving the engine for fuel if not bypassed. Try that.

Have you put back in your original injectors to see if it breaks up during it? Or is it just with these particular 440cc's?
