Default Maximum horsepower possible through stock SC mufflers?

How much horsepower have you seen through a set of stock SC mufflers?

It can have any engine/turbo/supercharger there is as long as it is using the mufflers that came stock on the car.

I wanted to make a custom exhaust that is quiet and still be able to flow enough air to make some power. I'd like the look of the factory exhaust since it would be for use in california. The factory mufflers with with a highflow cat is what i was thinking of using. Any opinions would be great. Thanks.

If you want it free flowing, but nearly as quite as stock, use glasspacks. I originally had straight pipes from the primary cats with just rod millen mufflers and it was pretty loud, so loud that I didn't pass inspection. Since then, I installed two glass pack resonators behind and now its as quite if not more so than my friend's stock G35 coupe.

I'm sure if I put the 3rd cat back on and put two more glasspacks on, my SC would probably be as quite as it was stock, but still free flowing.

3 of these inline will make your car sound slightly louder than stock but allow for alot more power http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-17221/

I ran 7psi break in on my 2jzgte bpu with stock Y and mufflers connected to 3" catless dp, I dont know at what kind of boost they would eventually get destroyed at though. My friend with a Baja turbo ran a BPU usdm sti setup, and blew out the side of his stock subaru (full stainless, all subaru oem is built by fujisubo) 2.5" muffler at about 270awhp. the Sc300 stock has a 2.5" y to 2"x2 to mufflers, I would guess they would be ok with pehaps 375-400 rwhp worth of exhaust flow/heat, but would be worried about blowing the can out due to overheating

why not use a exhaust cutout? You could run all the boost you want.

Yea just run an electric exhaust cut out on your factory exhaust.
Flip the switch and scare people beside you whenever you want.

i was pushing about 13lbs w/ stock exhaust system with electric cutout closed and about 18lbs when opened (from memory). this was w/ a 3 inch cutout (which really measured about 2.5 opening) if i was to do it over, i would have tried fitting in at least a 3.5 inch cutout to open it up even more, the difference in lbs when closed/opened would have been higher.
