Default PLEASE HELP oil and temp lights

i just installed my 1jz in my sc300. i am assuming i missed a few sensors or something. after firing it up my oil light came on. i changed the oil and filter to make sure that was not the problem. im assuming something electrical. does anyone know where i should start to try to trouble shoot this problem? this is my 2nd 1jz in this car and this is the 1st time i got an oil light. Also my temp guage was working perfectly before the install. after the install it will work but often times its stays on hot. again changed the fluid and thermastat, still same result. New hoses and old radiator but no signs of over heating. HELP PLEASE................

I am not sure why the oil light comes on but for the temp gauge, did you ever ground that one brown/black wire on the IK2 plug? If you don't know what I am talking about, refer to this thread for the temp gauge fix:

Well, I don't know why your temp gauge worked last time, but I know this is what you do to fix it because that wire needs to be grounded in order for the temp gauge to work.

Is your oil level light on (the orange one)? If it is did you check to see if the 1jz came with a level sensor? The reason I say this is my chaser swap didn't have one and I didn't ask Dr. Tweak to wire it into my harness so what I did was pull the bulb in the cluster. But I also check my oil often so no problem. Now if it is the red oil pressure light then I wouldn't drive it, things tend to break with no oil.
