just get an ebay manifold and get everything else brand name and used, the manifolds are perfectly fine. You can probably get away with the downpipe/intake pipe as well.

so which is better? I'm trying to piece together a kit as well.
I was thinking about getting the ebay manifold that comes with the down pipe and dump tubes and everything for $250 and using everything else brand name.
Does XS power have a kit like that for the price?

get an XS Power manifold, and source everything else. If you look hard enough and take your time, you can find 90% of everything you need with a majority of parts being new and spend less than $2k..I've only spent a TOTAL of $1322 getting my kit put together with the "vital" pieces being new i.e.- turbo/manifold/wategate/DP..everything else was used, but in great condition.
Just search around, you will find everything you need

I am skeptical about the ebay manifolds too. On one of my cars I went thru 5 different manifolds while trying to save money. Manifolds and Turbos have a lot of stress put on them. You get what you pay for. imo
