Default when you turn your blinker on does your dash light dim?

just wondering if this was normal or not but whenever I turn my blinkers on (left or right) all the lights on my dash speedo, tach, etc. kinda dim a little bit and get bright as my turn signals are blinking. just wondering if this is normal? because I read something about testing your alternator with the blinkers and your alternator might be bad if your lights dim or something.

I had the same issue when I first got my SC and it was my alternator. How old is your battery?

This should happen bc your pulling more power. It should not be that noticeable though so your alternator might not be charging as well as it should.

Mine does it too, but the alternator test to be just fine under load, i believe it is more a characteristic of old wires getting older and not flowing juice as they should. Have your alternator tested, if it comes out to be ok, and your grounds are ok then dont worry about it.

I think it has something to do with bad grounds and old wiring that gets higher in resistance over time. My car's lights used to dim alot when idling in D with the turn signals on, but a "big 3" upgrade under the hood fixed that. The only thing I notice with mine now is that all of the lights in the cluster itself still dim when the turn signal is on. Mine will not get loaded down even with the blower motor on full, both seat heaters and rear defroster, and the headlights on all at the same time.. but when I put the turn signals on at any rpm/load the lights in the actual cluster will dim with the signal while everything else doesn't change.

I think it's just an aging wire or a ground that is going bad somewhere in the cluster wiring because everything else checks out.

voltage stabilizer may help. I have an NRG here at my apt but haven't had time to install.

I had an issue like this not too long ago, But in my case, it was a weak and dying battery.
