Default '99 SC400, whats leaking?

Two small spots on the driveway about 1 & 1/2ft apart. I know nothing about the 1UZ.

^^it is if you find a repair shop that specializes in hydraulics. Do a search on "power steering line repair" and it'll give you info on what to look for. It's mostly for SC300 though, but the repair can probably be applied to the SC400 line as well.

the second option is to pay far out the *** for a new one from the dealer. $400ish new.

Go to a hydraulic shop and bring them the hose. they can replicate it with better parts for $50 or so.

well i'm bummed out...took it to a shop to get it looked at and had them do a "used car check." came back with this...

High Side Power Steering Hose From Pump-$614.81
Power Steering Pump-$454.14 + Tax
Power Steering Rack-$1368
Valve Cover Gasket-$244 + Tax
High Side AC Hose From Compressor-$231.94

Nothing has been done yet. This is parts + labor.

THAT's a little overkill for a leaking PS line. Yikes...

Hold up! Is the oil filter right above that? Looks like it in the pictures.
Check to make sure that's on tight.

I know when you get the oil changed, you can accidentally leave the old o-ring on and place the new filter with the new o-ring over it. It could leak through that and then onto those hoses. Check that out too.

If I were betting I would say just the pump is leaking and dripping on the lines. If those lines leak its much more than a drip. Most common leak for the SC400 is the PS pump. They start leaking at 80,000 to 100,000 miles.

i'm not even sure thats leaking. if it were to be leaking would it drip to the ground? cause the only thing I see is the slight ps leak.

wouldn't surprise me. they may be right about the rack though. i noticed the inside of my front wheels appeared to be wet or got wet and dried. didn't look like water. i'm gonna bring it to another shop and have them also do a used car check and see what they find. car is at 130k though.
