Default Auto to Manual tunnel mods?

Okay. 92 automatic with a 96 W58. Does the tunnel need to be cut for the shifter to poke through or no?

The best way to do this is.... Get the shift boot assembly, pop it in to the console, and then line it up with the bottom of the tunnel. Chances are, yes, you will have to do some cutting to get it to fit the shift boot. Now you could rig something up and make it fit the old auto shift hole, but then you are going to have an awkward shift location and one hell of an extension, not to mention a very funky center console...
