JZX100 VVTI 1JZ to SC300... Who has done it?/// My Build Thread
MY BUILD THREAD
Just wondering who has on here.
So far I have swapped the oil pans and am ready to put the 1J into my car
I was wondering what else is differentwith the JZX100 VS. the regular soarer 1j swap.
anyway I'm doing it, I have the new motor/tranny
and the old one is out.
Thanks.

So far as I know, differences are that the JXZ has traction control, but if you're talking VVTi motor, the Soarer has it too...oil pans different yeah, pretty much positive mounts are different. Misc. plugs and stuff are probably gonna be different, such as the ones that plug into the fuse box, etc. It won't be as plug and play as a Soarer 1J, but I'm sure there's several people on here running the VVTi 1J...I almost did, but decided to go the cheap/quick route, haha.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I talked to a guy from Tech2Motorsports a while back (1JZ swaps in FDs/240s) and asked about integrating the VVTi motor into their swaps. He mentioned that he didn't have any outstanding issues integrating the VVTi vs. non-VVTi 1JZ.
I've always wondered why nobody rocks 1JZ VVTi in their cars. The Chasers/Cresta/Mark2s run them ALL DAY in Japan and love the motor. I'd love to try a swap myself.

They seem to be the swap of choice with the cats in japan... from what I have heard.
we will see.
I hope the motor mounts are the same because I bought some Kazama solid mounts... oh well they might be for sale soon.

I plan on doing the exact same swap later this year. The mounts should work as 95% of all 1JZ's had the exact same mounting positions. I've always liked your car and will love it even more with the swap. Now get her done, put the highbeams back in and get her sideways. Oh and if you wanna the bumper in CF let me know.

what oil pan should I use?
The one off my stock 2j ? thats the one we are using but it seems to far forward and the Kazama motor mounts(jzz30) are not lining up... what am I missing?
or do I just need to wiggle it?

not even thinking about the body plugs yet.
motor mounts is the next issue... I have the Kazama Solid mounts for jzz30 and am having problems with the fitment. they seem to be an inch off.
anyone have any insight to my new problem...?

Well we decided to modify the motor mounts and after a few calls to japan that was the right thing to do for solid mounts.
Also made a solid trans mount and got that sucker in.
also had to cut a bigger hole for the R154 shifter.
