hopefully will be running by end of week, slight delay for trd LSD. Will probably have it wired up in the next few days. I refused to drive post swap wthout LSD, had to take the time to kill the trac and all complex stuff for TTC conversion before it went in. Hate nannys, they're only good for housework management- not impede my right foot of wangan

So close to end of this ridiculously long project. Since august (acqusition) it has been non stop

its close. VERY CLOSE!!! we are cranking, sparking, injectors are the only thing not firing- will be working on sending them 12v ign+ later today, tomorrow.

last couple weeks have been hell for my life; grad school + finals.

took a break and been driving, 151mph in the 1990 735i (going downhill) is not that bad

got the 4.08 open diff out, TRD LSD will go in soon

when you rebuild a motor, its ideal to have the crankshaft polished by specalized machine shop and checked to be in spec- the bearings are sized depending on the tolerances between crankshaft/block - if your crankshaft is not within spec, they can machine it for oversized bearings - this is pretty normal.

I wanted the assurance that my crank was 100%, although it looked perfect to me when removed. thus, professional assistance was the only option.

IT RUNS. FTW

had to make sure all my main items had power efi+ but i finally got it to fire up and run on its own power, had to shut it off by turning off key - Success.

that was last night, today the diff goes in, exhaust goes back in, and wiring gets cleaned up and loomed. SMIC and bracketry/piping shoudl be figured out this afternoon, car should be out of the garage and rolling by night.

WHOOOOOO!~

moral of story.

Do your own wiring, it is not that bad.

funny how still messy looks a hell of a lot cleaner than messy - but I feel you on that. I am waiting for my harness so I can clean it up on the install.

Congrats BTW...I probably should have just done this. I would be up and running already. Live and Learn!!!

word. got the rear end installed

and let it idle for a long time to burn off random yucks. smoked alot and then was happy.

bled coolant system, took it around the block 2x for amusement. he's a happy guy. dosn't leak a drop of anything at all, hooray!

only a few more loose ends to tie up (o2 sensor setup, starter puzzle, and a couple fuses im short- but i will be driving this guy tomorow.

I did a Power steering delete (and short belt fitup), we will see how the thing drives around town sans power steering- it may be sans PS a wangan only beast for now.

AC and PS are last on the list. i live in san francisco where AC is really not needed, so it will be a week or so before i get to i.

PS is fun non power, but i will prob. make some ANS lines to connect JZA80 pump to MK3 res and jzz30 rack. the feeling of no power steering is sick though

just drove the car home- logged ~150 miles of breakin so far, pretty happy

I also installed the 02 sensor- im running 550 usdm injectors with JDM everything else, and without the o2 sensor installed i was riching out ~ 11:1 or lower afr idle, now with o2 sensor connected, its holding 12.5-13:1.

i used a bosch universal 3 wire for nissan altima- pretty hilarious. supposedly 1j and later model 7mgte was also a 3 wire- ground/constant power/feedback

yay!
