Default For those who know how to read Smog #'s.

Hey guys, i just had my car smoged, and passed. (Phew)
but anyhow.... one of the numbers concerned me because it was pretty much border line failing, but luckily enough i didn't.
All the other numbers were very good, except for one. So Any help appreciated.

This is what i got when i smoged.

My HC (PPM) was measured at 48 when the max is listed at 49

any ideas what may be throwing this one off?
All the other readings were way under so im not concerned about those. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

you would be running a little bit rich there peter haha
hc means hyrdro carbon just in case you didnt know
if you wanted to check it out it should be a bad vacum line
if it gets worse check ignition system.
bad o2 sensors can also cause this.

good thing you passed though.

i had the same thing happen. but then again it could be because the previous owner retarded the timing 3 degrees. its at 7 right now instead of 10 according to the smog guy. just havent had time to fix it yet. j/w, how much would this affect my timing/mpg??? sorry, not trying to steal your thread, thoughts just popped up in my head.
